BioMariana Echeverri is an international multidisciplinary artist. Born in 1986 in Paris, she grew up with her parents in a small town in Portugal surrounded by a creative and multi-cultural environment: her mother is a Portuguese and French professor and her father is a Colombian classical guitarist. She soon left her home to study Fine Arts at Oporto’s University, a degree that she developed and finished in Barcelona, where she lived for 5 years. During those years, she collaborated with several art collectives from the Barcelona queer punk scene, exploring concepts of sexuality, post-porn, gender and Queer Theory. In 2010 Mariana moved to London where she explored new fields such as Set Design for Film and Performance, keeping up collaborative work as well as developing new individual projects. In 2012 she was invited by il Mondo Gallery (Barcelona) to exhibit the complete series of Bestiario which meant her first solo show. Currently, she’s working with film director Lola Clavo on the foundation of their still and moving image collective: Exotica Loom.
